Girya HKC

What is the HKC?

HardStyle Kettlebell Certification

The HKC is the latest instructor certification from Pavel and Dragon Door, the originators of the first ever Kettlebell Instructor Course, the RKC. The Gold Standard for kettlebell Instruction, the RKC is a grueling, three day challenge; a Black Belt course, if you will. Obviously not for everyone it became apparent that there was a need for an entry level kettlebell course; one that had the same quality and detail of information about how to teach kettlebell basics but without the need for such a large physical and financial commitment.

Enter the HKC!

HKC stands for Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified and is a one day course designed to teach you how to master and teach the essence of kettlebell basic movements: The Swing, the Turkish Getup and the Goblet squat.

The foundation of all kettlebell movements, these three exercises will set the stage for you to enter the world of kettlebell training with the most complete foundation for overall fitness possible.

Qualifying Standards

Like the RKC the HKC includes a qualifying test of physical strength. The RKC is famous for it's mandatory snatch test — that immediately sets the bar high for those wishing to qualify. We take pride in this.

Many fitness certifications have no physical test whatsoever, allowing that curious anomaly of an obviously out-of-shape trainer dispensing advice to clients who are sometimes more fit than they are.

To ensure that those who register for the HKC have a reasonable level of fitness, Pavel settled on an entry-level pullup test for men and a flexed-arm hang test for women based on the US Marine Corps'. Women need to do a 15 second arm hang and the men a 5 rep pullup test.

What will you learn at an HKC?

  • A deep understanding of the true benefits of kettlebell training — for both yourself and your clients
  • A solid knowledge of vital kettlebell training safety procedures
  • A workmanlike grasp of the fundamentals of biomechanics — to ensure your clients move with perfect form and avoid injury
  • A grasp of the key HardStyle skills and principles of strength
  • The ability to competently perform the three foundational kettlebell exercises (the Swing, the Get-Up, and the Goblet Squat)
  • The confidence you can now correctly teach the three essential kettlebell exercises — and troubleshoot common technique problems
  • The unique HKC template for designing an unlimited number of effective kettlebell workouts.

PLUS you will get the information packed HKC manual!
